In Gaza, a territory under embargo and deprived of a museum, the collective Hawaf conceived a museum against destruction and oblivion. It is imagined as a space that protects the archaeological, historical and artistic heritage of this confined enclave, where the only way to dream is to look at the sky.ezae
The cloud becomes the safest and most appropriate place to build this museum of possibilities. Born in 2021 somewhere between Gaza and Paris, Sahab is envisioned as a refuge museum that preserves the past of Palestine, confronts the present, and sketches the contours of a better future through digital space and virtual reality.eazezae
As a borderless museum, Sahab aims to bring Gaza out of isolation. Through workshops, material and digital works are created by a dispersed Palestinian community, collectively building the museum and its future collections. Eventually, this virtual museum is intended to take tangible form in a liberated Gaza.
