Ahmed Abunada
Ahmed Abunada (b. 1996, Gaza, Palestine) is a visual artist working across oil painting, charcoal, comics, and digital media. His practice is rooted in expressive realism, where classical techniques intersect with modern sensibilities to form a distinct visual language. His work engages deeply with themes of displacement, exile, and lived experience, drawing from his personal journey. Through his practice, memory becomes a space to reflect on loss, identity, and survival. Active as an independent artist since 2014, Ahmed has exhibited internationally across Palestine, Egypt, Italy, France, Germany, and Australia. He has also worked as a drawing trainer and art teacher, and led workshops in Sydney. Following repeated displacement from Gaza, he relocated via Egypt and is now based in Sydney, where he continues his artistic practice.
He participated to “L’Avenir du Nuage” (2023) and “A Place to Be” immersive installation at Palais de Tokyo (2024).
