Jihad Jarbou
A visual artist living in Gaza City. Born in 1999.
Jihad uses art as a means of expressing her feelings and her relationship with reality. She uses photography and performance art in producing her artwork, creating a personal space for self-expression. She has participated in several local, Arab, and international workshops and exhibitions, including: "Built for the Isolated," organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza; "Art Sanctuary," organized by Al-Ittiqa Gallery in Gaza; and "Gaza Art," organized by Shababik Workshop in Gaza.
She received the "Imagine Freedom" award, first place, from the "Wall Hotel" gallery in Bethlehem in 2023. During the war, she produced a book titled "Here is My Life in Milan 2024."
She participated to the Urgent Grant Program.
