Marwan Nassar

A Palestinian visual artist and curator from Gaza. He teaches contemporary painting and photography at several Palestinian universities. He develops workshops that link art to social and psychological transformations, and is interested in drawing, photography, collage and artistic installation. He works on interactive projects that blend personal and collective memory, in works inspired by the realities of war, siege and survival, relying on simple local materials as a language of visual resistance and symbolic reconstruction. He has curated collective projects in Gaza such as Things Call Us (2025), Traces After Erasure, and Stories of Places, in which visual arts intersect with testimony and memory in an expressive, contemplative and intimate style, combining fragility, intimate strength and imagination. Through texts that parallel his artistic practice, such as Surviving to Bear Witness, Marwan documents the aesthetic and human experience in times of war.
