May Murad

May Murad (born in 1984 in Gaza, Palestine) is a visual artist living and working in Paris. A 2006 graduate of the Fine Arts program at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza, she has developed a practice centered on drawing and painting, exploring the notions of exile, memory, erasure, and fragmentation linked to the experience of living under blockade and forced displacement.

Her work has been presented in several international institutions and exhibitions, notably at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the MO.CO Museum of Contemporary Art in Montpellier, the MAC Lyon, and the Arab World Institute. She is currently pursuing doctoral research at Sorbonne Nouvelle University as part of the PAUSE program, following a master’s degree in Geopolitics of Art and Culture focused on contemporary Palestinian art in times of crisis.

Through an aesthetic blending pictorial gestures and digital language, she examines the relationships between personal memory, political violence, and disappearance.

She participated into “A Place to Be” at Palais de Tokyo in 2024.
