Ahmed Muhanna, Dream Under the Rubble, 2025
Dreams under the rubble, deep underground, where time cannot be measured and light cannot be seen, only faint cries for help and breaths that gradually fade away. Beneath the rubble lie dreams that never came to fruition, shattered before they were born, before they saw the light of day. Faces buried, bodies trapped, and wishes stuck in throats that never finished screaming.
From the dust, the smell of earth mixed with ashes seeps through, bearing witness to what remains of a life that only a moment ago was walking on the earth. Scattered children's toys, their notebooks open to the last word, a small shoe missing half of itself, all evidence of a world that suddenly stopped, of a time that suffocated in a single moment.
But even under the rubble, something moves silently... a small pulse that refuses to die, a dream clinging to what remains of hope, even if it is only a thread of light seeping through a crack in the wall. There, deep in the rubble, the story is reborn, written by souls suspended between earth and sky, telling the world: We are still here, dreaming... even if we are under the rubble.
