Alaa Al-Shawa, Truncated Masks, 2025
All the invisible masks, this work embodies the struggle through truncated ones that seem to remain unbreakable in reality and fragility at the slightest interaction. The work addresses the conflict between our true essence and the terrain we adopt as a truncated mask for protection. Do we preserve our essence, or do we dissolve into the molds of false masks!
This series of work was created for the Sahab Urgent Grant Program 2025.
