Ayman Alhossary, Life Between the Grey, 2025
A performance art project that combines calligraphy and performance art, presented amid the ruins of destroyed buildings using bright colors and tools taken from the surrounding environment, while wearing displacement clothes that accompanied the artist for a year and a half during his displacement to southern Gaza. The performance includes a percussion artist whose rhythms harmonize with bodily movements and gestures, together forming an artistic work that reflects the depth of human suffering under war. The choice of bright colors symbolizes hope in the face of the overwhelming grey that dominates the rubble of Gaza.
This series of work was created for the Sahab Urgent Grant Program 2025.
