Marwan Nassar, To Survive To Witness, 2025
To Survive To Witness is an artistic project I developed during the genocidal war on Gaza as an attempt to transform the act of drawing into an act of witnessing. In this body of work, drawing was not merely a means of documenting events, but a way of resisting erasure and preserving human memory. I created hundreds of artworks inspired by the realities of daily life under bombardment, displacement, and loss, seeking to place the human being back at the center of the narrative. The project affirms that true survival is fulfilled through bearing witness, and that art can carry what words are often unable to express.
