Childhood Suspended Between Dream and Rubble is a sculptural art project that embodies the features of childhood in a moment of loss, between an unfulfilled dream and the rubble of a life destroyed by war.
A child's face is carved on a destroyed wall, half of it innocent, the other half fragmented like his memory...
The cracks in the wall turn into lines that draw the features of the child ‘Omar,’ and the ashes become the colour of extinguished innocence.
This work not only documents the destruction, but also raises a big question about all this rubble:
Where have the children's dreams gone?
It is childhood that never grew up, features frozen in a moment of fear or under a cloud of dust.
A work that tells of children who do not play, do not go to school, and do not dream as they should...
Instead, their lives are suspended on the nail of war, their faces drawn on walls that have fallen on top of their memories.
