Rawan Murad, A Collapsing World, 2025
The world is collapsing around me, and Gaza is my world, and my world is collapsing.
Everything changed in an instant, and the world collapsed, as if it were the end of the world.
Everything is heading toward collapse.
Buildings, people, things, and life are collapsing.
While we sit and watch our collapsing world...
In this project, I attempt to embody my collapsing world in several oil paintings, through my own perspective on the world. My collapsing world is reflected in moments of contemplation and art, with scenes from my personal experience during the war so far.
This work was created as part as the Sahab Urgent Grant Program 2025.
