Yasser Dahlan, Gaza Breathing Dust – Three Tales from the Heart of the Rubble, 2025
A three-part work expressing the concept of embodying the suffering of childhood under siege and war.
In this expressive trilogy, I depict painful scenes from the human reality in Gaza.
In the first painting, a child holds an empty bowl, standing silently awaiting a small amount of food, with lost eyes and a face that suggests hunger and helplessness. The second painting depicts a mother hugging her child tightly, as if trying to hide him from the cruelty of the world, in a scene that blends sadness and protection.
The third painting depicts a barefoot child sitting on a gallon of water, his eyes facing directly at the viewer, silently revealing a life of waiting and deprivation.
