Founded in 2021, Hawaf is a collective of artists, architects, and researchers based across Gaza, France, Europe, and the SWANA region. At the intersection of artistic production, research, knowledge transmission, and digital practices, Hawaf develops projects that enable Palestinian narratives, artworks, and imaginaries to continue circulating despite borders, displacement, and forms of cultural erasure.

From this dynamic emerged Sahab, an artistic initiative bringing together artists, researchers, curators, and cultural professionals around new forms of creation, memory, and transmission.
At the heart of the project is the Sahab Museum, an imaginary and virtual museum dedicated to Palestinian art, heritage, and contemporary creation. Accessible from anywhere in the world, it allows artworks, archives, narratives, and ideas to circulate freely. The Sahab Museum is conceived both as a space of cultural resistance and as a meeting place for artists, collectives, audiences, and institutions. It hosts works produced within Sahab programs, as well as projects developed by other Palestinian collectives.

Since its creation, Sahab has already contributed to supporting the Palestinian cause: more than 60 artists supported, 300 applications received, €44,000 in grants awarded, as well as several mentorship programs, workshops, residencies, exhibitions, and research projects presented internationally.
For 2026–2027, Sahab aims to take a new step forward. Upcoming initiatives will focus in particular on funding production grants to enable Palestinian artists to continue their work, organizing online and in-person workshops, developing mentorship and research programs, supporting new artistic productions, and strengthening the Sahab Museum and its digital platform.
These actions seek to create concrete spaces of support, transmission, and visibility for Palestinian artists and narratives.
