Ahmed Al-Haddad, Gaza in My Eyes, 2025

This is an audio-visual project that draws on the experience of Gaza to present a more profound and humanistic image of the city, rather than reducing Gaza to scenes of war and destruction. The project seeks to produce a short visual work that combines images and music through an animated painting and live music that includes original sounds from the Gaza coast and live voices to reflect a collective memory rooted in the details of everyday life. The sea, as a symbol of freedom and memory, forms the main focus of the work, where the past meets the present, and nostalgia meets resistance. It is an artistic testimony that preserves what we carry in our eyes and hearts from Gaza. Moments of peace we experienced despite the siege, and precious memories that remain alive in our hearts. It is an attempt to consolidate this collective memory as a tool of resistance, affirming that Gaza is a city of life and dignity, and that hope in it cannot be erased.
