Hala Abuamer, A Project Narrower than Silence, 2025
An art project that embodies the heavy silence experienced by the people of Gaza, where words become powerless and pain becomes silent. Through calligraphy, I express this silence by transforming Arabic letters into blurred symbols and overlapping colours that embody contraction, suffocation and internal chaos. Each painting represents an internal struggle and an unspoken dialogue, in an attempt to transform silence into a visual form, colour and sound for the unspoken.
This work was created as part of Sahab Urgent Program 2025.
