Salem Awad, We Paint to Stay, 2025
A therapeutic art initiative targeting twenty-eight displaced children from Gaza, aged between ten and fifteen, who have experienced traumatic events due to the war. The dialogue and practical sessions lasted for three weeks and aimed to empower them to express themselves through art using the Cubist style as an effective means of release, healing, and self-reconstruction. The children produced both individual and collective drawings, and their creations reflected their shared stories of pain, resilience, and hope connected to their identity and humanity.
